Gratitude

The picture is a little sideways, but it's always nice to have a visual.

We talked with the kids about being grateful. I had printed off the scripture you see on the image and then we let the girls decorate it with stickers and stamps. We each took turns writing down things we were grateful for. This was quite a few months ago when Gracie couldn't write, so we wrote down the things that they said for them. I have had this hanging on the bathroom mirror for months now, and I have the scripture memorized after reading it so much.

Sister Hinckley said "With all that we have we must also have grateful hearts. We must teach our children not to take all that they have for granted."

I love to point things out to the kids that we should be thankful for. I will tell them "Look at that beautiful sunset Heavenly Father gave us." It is always easy to point out beauty in nature, because I think children really love nature and connect with it easily. Of course I also do the typical guilt trip things as well, such as telling Gracie "You should just be grateful you have food to eat and stop being so picky!!!" ha ha.

I hope this gave somebody an idea of ways that they can teach gratitude.
